Clarence Jay Allred born at Chester in Sanpete county on February 19, 1900 passed away February 9, 1969. He had served as Executive Secretary of the Utah State Roads Commission. With his wife Thelma Myrtle Carter, 1907-1956, he had three daughters: Colleen A. Holbrook, Joyce A. Olson Dowden and Carolyn A. Smith. Clarence Jay and Myrtle are buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery. After Myrtle's death Clarence married Evelyn Neff (1907-1997) in 1957. Evelyn was an elementary school teacher, she and Clarence did not have any children. She also is buried in Salt Lake City Cem. Two of Clarence's daughters have passed away. I have identified 11 grandchildren.
Merrill Allred was born in Spring City 24 Feb 1904 and passed away the folllowing day. He was laid to rest in that cemetery.
Alice Genile Allred Prestwich, 15 Dec 1907 - 21 Feb 2004, died at her home in Salt Lake City. Her obituary in the Salt Lake Tribune portrays a full rich life. She taught in the Spring City public schools and also worked with the Utah State driver license bureau. She was an avid genealogist. She married William Berg Prestwich June 27, 1934 at the Manti LDS Temple. They were predeceased by two infant sons, and Berg followed his wife in 2009, passing away at 100 years of age. They are survived by son Larry Prestwich (wife Anne) and daughter Connie Brinton (husband W. Robert) as well as 11 grandchildren.
James Raymond Allred, 12 Aug 1910 to 28 Nov 1980 was married to Melba Miller in 22 Nov 1940 at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Two sons have passed away: James Raymond, Jr (1945-1948) and Brian Lee (1946-1992). Melba's obituary identifies surviving children as daughters Darlene Lustig and Nancy Bollinger and son Clinton Carl. James and Melba Allred are buried at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Erma Allred, fifth child of James Carlos lived 24 Apr 1916 to Apr 1985, her death date found in the Social Security Death Index. She married Donald K. Barton (1915-1997) July 2, 1939 in Manti. Their children are Suzanne B. Hansen, Valerie B. Youngstrom, Eric Donald Barton, and Carl William Barton. Erma and Donald both passed away in Salt Lake City.
