I have displayed opportunities to miss information and to pass along misinformation in family history and genealogy work. You may have seen the ability to misspell even the most simple word in my posts. At times I may have given evidence of typing while asleep. I try to catch such things before I press the save or send or post it buttons.
I repeat my apologies for having shorted Joseph Edwin Boud and his family in my record of their history. "J.E. Boud, Banker, dies at 91" reads the notice in the Salt Lake Tribune of Tuesday January 13, 1976. It cites his being active in banking circles for many years, 51 years with Zions First National Bank. He was past president and member of the board of governors of the American Institute of Bankers as well as past president of Salt Lake Bank Officers Association. It was only after I had learned of his daughter's death that I located this notice and that of his wife Irene Delaney Boud on Thursday May 22, 1986. Their children were:
Margaret Boud Coombs, who died age 94 on August 20, 2011 in Salt Lake City. In the notice of her passing it states she "leaves behind a great legacy of lessons about how to live life." She gained her education in Salt Lake City schools and the University of Utah, where she received a degree in Education and Science. In this challenging field she met her husband Alan Coombs. They married in 1939 and worked together for over 30 years in the restaurant business, being owners of Beau Brummel Restaurant. They raised four children, supporting their wide interests and activities with time and interest. They were active in the developing ski industry of Utah.
A. Alan Coombs passed away in 1976. Margaret and Al were parents of Jane, Judy, John and Peter.
Robert D. Boud, born July 9, 1918, he passed away July 28, 1972,age 54, in Fresno, California where he was District Sales Manager for Specialty Advertising Co. A graduate of University of Utah, he married Mary Ann Crawford in 1945 in San Francisco. With his wife, parents and sister he was survived by children Susan, Joseph and James Boud.
