Lovina did not know any of her grandchildren, having passed away in 1896. Lenora, her only daughter did not marry until 1905, the first of her children to do so. Her grandchildren by daughter Lenora:
Edna Durrant Miller was born 4 July 1907 in American Fork, Utah. She married Hampton Kirk Miller 28 June 1940 in Salt Lake City. The end of their life was spent in Parma, Idaho where they are buried in the Parma Cemetery. Edna passed away 28 February 1999, her husband 22 October 1983. They are parents of Carol M. Rohrbacher.
Morris Holding Durrant 21 May 1913 to 15 July 1995, passing away in Durham, California. Morris' wife, Eva Mae Brigham was born 1917 in Colorado. They married and had one child, Linda Lou. Eva passed away in 1975.
Grandchildren through Franklin Eugene Holding:
Helen Jean Holding Gerard, born 28 March 1921 in Salt Lake City and passed away 3 May 2007 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She married Frank Gerard of Connecticut, a graduate of mechanical engineering who worked with the Olin-Matheson Corp, Copper Development. They married 26 February 1944 in Salt Lake City. They were parents of Carole Ann and Steven. Frank passed away November 1973, they are buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Ralphh Pollard Holding, husband of Pauline Walkingshaw, having married in Salt Lake City LDS Temple on February 14, 1947. Their 60 years anniversary was announced in local papers. Pauline's death October 1, 2008 was reported in the Deseret News. With her husband, surviving also are two children Susan Kay and Richard Michael.
Robert Earl Holding known universally as R Earl, successful businessman with Sinclair Oil and the Grand America Hotels and Resorts has worked hard from the post WW II period when he and his wife and parents took over the management of Covey's Little America motel and gas station in Wyoming. Today the enterprises under his stewardship include destination resorts, ski venues of world class/Olympic class, natural gas and oil and cattle. He has been cited for his property ownership and management in Salt Lake City. With his wife Carol Orme he is parent of Anne, Kathleen and Steven.

We learn this week of the death of Robert Earl Holding at age 86. His obituary appeared in Salt Lake and Ogden papers on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He is survived by his wife, children and twelve grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteSalt Lake Tribune of Thursday September 5, 2013 carries the obituary of Richard Michael Holding, 1983-2013, son of Rick and Tamera Lee Holding and grandson of Ralph Pollard Holding with the late Pauline Walkingshaw Holding. Rich leaves siblings and four nephews/nieces in addition to others.
