Grandchildren through Florence Boud Butterworth

I have reported in earlier entries that I gained much information and insight from Edwin J and Dorothy Leetham Butterworth's book Call Back Yesterday on this family of Elizabeth Pollard Boud. I located the book at the LDS Family History Library, I do not know if it has been digitized. The call # is 929.273 B982be, and may be in the high density area, which mean you need to request it at the service window. Edwin and his wife Dorothy have passed away since I began this project. And so I extend my appreciation to them with every word of this small account.
Through her daughter Florence Butterworth, Elizabeth Pollard Boud had five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sixteen great great-grandchildren. The youngest of her Butterworth grandchildren was Maxine Alice Butterworth born 22 October 1918 and passing away four days later on October 26. The others:
Wallace Edmund Butterworth, born August 6, 1905 in Salt Lake City and passing away there on November 5, 1943, aged 38. He was married to Thelma Schaelling the sixth of January 1931. Wallace's death was brought on by cancer of the stomach, which would also take his sister Florence. Wallace and Thelma did not have children. He was a stocks manager J.A. Hogle & Co, Brokers. He was active in his church community, and had been honored by the Salt Lake Boy Scout council for 15 years of service.
Florence Butterworth was born November 7, 1906 in the family home at Butterworth Court in Salt Lake City, she would die in Rains, Carbon county, Utah 24 Oct 1941. Having completed a course of business studies she obtained a position as officce manager with the Mutual Coal company where she met the chief mining engineer Albert Shaw, a native of Wales, whom she would marry October 1, 1930. They had one child, son Trevor. Florence was active in her community in PTA and in the Order of Eastern Star. Albert Shaw passed away in 1957, in California.
Ruth Butterworth Latter was born March 1, 1908. While she grew up in the West High area she chose to attend Granite High School to remain with friends. She would marry the student body president Fullmer H Latter August 12, 1930. Young married couples in the 30s had their struggles: Fullmer drove truck deliveries when he could get work, Ruth worked odd jobs. After divorcing Ruth supported herself and their son Fullmer Jr by becoming a dental assistant and insurance clerk. When Fullmer Jr was disabled by Polio in the 1950s Ruth devoted herself to helping his family care for him. He did go on to live until March 1984, active in the affairs of his family and community. Ruth passed away in 1983 after a stroke which may have been relative to injuries from an auto accident earlier that year in California.
Edwin J Butterworth was born November 5 1912 in Salt Lake City. He passed away April 5, 2010. His obituary in the Deseret News of April 7 describes a life of service to family, faith and fellow man. He had a long distinguished career at Brigham Young University, for nearly 30 years as director of the BYU Public Communications Department. He was assistant professor in Journalism. During his long career he was editor for Salt Lake Telegram, Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News. He received numerous awards and citations respecting his work.
Marrying Dorothy Ann Leetham on August 26, 1938 they were married over 71 years. They were parents to Byron E and Bonnie K Butterworth, and seven grandchildren. Dorothy L. Butterworth passed away June 15, 2010, aged 98.
